I have been playing “Civ Beyond Earth” of late and it has made me think about how shit is going to hit the fan in my lifetime. Rising waters are going to kill millions/billions, weather is going to go crazy and super storms are going to become a thing, widespread drought, etc. and to top it off there are far too meany people who say it’s not a thing! They think if they stick their heads in the sand it will all go away. Sigh…
Well on a funny note on the topic of the end of the world:
Oh and also Civ BE is super good! Give it a try ASAP.
I usually dont give much creedence to extinction events mainly because theres been too many preditions of it since the begin of civilization, it always feels like the species that cries wolf. But i also hold a lot of hope in the cingularity and beyond human AI. I feel if humanity can prove it can keep from being an asshole and teach the sacredness of all life then we not only will survive but thrive as a species. But thats my thoughts on it.
I remember late 60s there was supposed to be standing room only on the planet. Seems the entire population of the planet can now fit onto the Isle of Wight.
Early 90s sea levels were supposed to rise by a metre by 2012. I live on the coast and still can’t swim!
Just saying.
But love the drawing, usual standard, excellent.
You forgot to mention that there’s a good chance some kind of pandemic will happen because of overuse of antibiotics and similar to create super diseases. Or the potential asteroid impact that could wipe out most life on the planet. Or some scientists in a lab somewhere could release something that wipes out all plant life on the planet (that actually almost happened a decade or so ago). Could even be the old classic, nuclear war.
Or you could be hit by a bus tomorrow. Only sure thing is that you won’t live forever, and you probably won’t predict the thing that will actually kill you. All how you want to look at things.
